Typology Paris Skincare Review

Typology Paris were kind enough to send me a personalised skin care routine, tailored to my skin type and preferences, so here’s my review of the products they sent me and my overall experience with the brand.

Firstly, having a whole routine curated for me after only having to answer a few questions on my skin, not only saved me a lot of time but also felt reassuring that I was getting best products for me, picked out by the experts; as someone who doesn’t know all that much about skin care, it was definitely a luxury not having to research every product myself. On my skincare quiz, I specified that my skin type is normal/oily and my main concerns for my skin are fine lines and under eye circles.

All together, my routine included: a cleansing bar, micellar water, exfoliating toner, depuffing hydrolat, shine control serum, under eye serum, firming serum, hydration serum, fine line serum and a moisturiser. My usual skin care routine uses a lot less products than the 11 which were sent to me, so it was exciting to get the opportunity to try out some products I usually wouldn’t consider buying, to test out if they’re worth repurchasing.

My first impression of the products was how impressed I was with the amount of reusable packaging used, as the majority of them were packaged with cardboard which was able to be recycled. One of the main reasons why I really liked the idea of their cleansing bar, is because instead of using my usual facial wash which comes in a plastic tube, I can instead use an environmentally friendly alternative which works just as well.

I found the toner and under eye serum left my skin feeling super refreshed and clean, and I’m super glad to finally have a product which will hopefully help with under eye circles as it’s something I’ve been meaning to invest in for a while. The moisturiser is probably one of, if not, the smoothest I’ve ever tried and has made my skin feel so soft after using it for a few days. The only products I was a bit disappointed in and don’t see myself using again in the future is probably the firming and fine line serums; although I love the concept of the products, they did feel a little greasy on my skin after rubbing in and as someone who already experiences oily skin, this wasn’t really ideal for me. Luckily the other 3 serums I was sent felt a lot nicer on my skin and I can definitely see myself carry on using.

To top it off, the products came with a zip up bag, which as a student who’s often travelling back and forth from uni, is super useful as now instead of having to cram my skin care bits in my makeup bag, they have their own home.

All in all, I was very much spoiled for choice with the selection of products Typology Paris provided me for my skincare routine. If you’re someone who as well as getting your go to, enjoys trying out new products curated to you, it’s definitely worth trying out.
